Where these questions come from
Northern Territory Government does not publish the NT DriveSafe NT knowledge test question bank. The 100 questions here are original practice questions written for this site against the current Northern Territory road rules, with the rule cited on every answer. They are not the official questions and nothing on this page says otherwise.
The road sign questions, and the sign artwork with them, were written and drawn for this site as well.

The NT path after the knowledge test
The Northern Territory Government licensing path lists no separate hazard perception test: pass the theory test and get a learner licence, practise with supervision for at least 6 continuous months, then pass the practical driving test for a provisional licence.
DriveSafe NT offers a Territory route alongside an independent Motor Vehicle Registry application. The knowledge test has 30 multiple choice questions and requires 26 correct. A learner licence must be held continuously for six months before the practical driving assessment. The Northern Territory Government, checked 3 September 2026, records those steps and the recommended practice of about 20 hours learning the controls followed by another 80 hours for lower risk driving.
That recommendation is not a logbook requirement. The Northern Territory does not run a log book system, and its learner path lists no separate hazard perception test. This leaves the theory test, supervised learner period and practical driving assessment as the published sequence. The Northern Territory Government has not published a practical pass rate here, so none is stated. DriveSafe NT and the Northern Territory Government are the sources for this route.
The Northern Territory theory test asks 30 multiple choice questions, drawn at random from a pool of more than 300, and you need at least 26 correct to pass. It is sat at a Motor Vehicle Registry office when you lodge the learner licence application, or it is covered by DriveSafe NT enrolment. Those figures were read on the Northern Territory Government Get your driver licence page and its fee page on 3 September 2026. Every Northern Territory question we publish is original and cites the road rule behind the answer.
The Northern Territory does not run a log book system. It recommends about 20 hours to learn the controls and another 80 hours to become a low risk driver, and it requires the learner licence to be held for six continuous months. Read on the Northern Territory Government page on 3 September 2026.
The Northern Territory is the least documented system in the country, and the figures circulating on other practice sites are rarely traced to a Territory page. Everything here was read on nt.gov.au on 3 September 2026, and the practical assessment fee stays blank because a candidate outside DriveSafe NT pays the authorised examiner directly.
No verified pass rate is published here for the Practical driving assessment.
The Northern Territory Government path has no separate hazard perception test, so the theory test, learner period and practical assessment are the confirmed steps published here.
