20 free tests for the test Transport for NSW and Service NSW sets, drawn from 161 questions. No account, no paywall, nothing held back.

Where these questions come from
Transport for NSW publishes the Driver Knowledge Test question bank in full under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence, CC BY 4.0, attributed to the State of New South Wales (Transport for NSW). All 358 questions are on this site. 194 of them are built around a picture, and the artwork sits outside that licence and has not been drawn here yet, so they are held out of every run. With the three integrity questions held out as well, that leaves 197 questions out of the draw and 161 in it. The published file is the one these were parsed from.
The road sign questions alongside them, and the sign artwork with them, were written and drawn for this site rather than taken from an official file.

How the NSW Driver Knowledge Test runs
The Driver Knowledge Test runs 45 questions in two sections. The 15 general knowledge questions allow three wrong answers. The 30 road safety questions allow one. Transport for NSW publishes the car question bank in full, which is what you practise here. Since 2024 the agency has been moving learners onto DKT Online, a 4 to 6 hour course with the test at the end on a single fee.
- General knowledge, 15 questions12 correct to pass
- Road safety, 30 questions29 correct to pass
Hazard Perception Test
15 touch screen clips, taken on the way to a P2 licence.
Where NSW learners come unstuck
The road safety section is where sittings end. 29 correct out of 30 means one slip on a give way rule or a speed limit is the whole test.
