Where these questions come from

Northern Territory Government does not publish a motorcycle question bank. The 70 questions here are original practice questions written for this site against the current Northern Territory road rules for riders, with the rule cited on every answer. They are not the official questions and nothing on this page says otherwise.

The road sign questions, and the sign artwork with them, were written and drawn for this site as well.

A sign means the same thing to a rider as to a driver, so the same deck of 161 sign questions is used in both classes.

What the rider test asks

We have not been able to check this jurisdiction's rider test against Northern Territory Government, so the figures below stay blank rather than repeating what other sites carry.

Test
Being verified
The official name of the Northern Territory motorcycle knowledge test has not been checked against Northern Territory Government, so this site does not state one. The tests below are practice runs over our own questions.
Questions
Being verified
No published question count for a NT rider test has been confirmed against Northern Territory Government.
Pass mark
Being verified
No rider test pass mark for NT has been confirmed against Northern Territory Government, so this site does not state one, here or on any test page.
Questions on this site
70 in the draw
Counted off the rider bank on disk on the day this page was built.
Fees and licence steps
Being verified
Rider licence fees, courses and supervised hour rules differ from the car ones, and we have not checked the NT figures. The car figures on the NT page are for cars and are not repeated here.

The NT rider ladder, in order

Work down it. Each stage says how big it is before you commit to anything in it.

The essentials

Start here: numbered sets that between them cover the pool once without repeating a question, the whole pool in one sitting, and a short check to find your weak topics. 4 tests, 10 to 70 questions

Harder situations and road signs

Intersections, roundabouts, lane rules and the signs people read the wrong way round. 5 tests, 8 to 25 questions

The exam simulator

A full length run with answers held back to the end, and no pass mark claimed for it. 1 test, 30 questions

The challenge deck

Every question you answer wrong on this site goes into one deck kept in this browser, car and motorcycle together, with nothing sent anywhere and no account behind it.

What we do not claim here

Northern Territory Government does not publish a motorcycle question bank, and we have not been able to confirm how many questions the NT rider test asks or what its pass mark is. So this page states neither. The runs in the ladder are practice over original questions, scored out of the questions they ask.

Lane filtering, learner approved motorcycles and licence stages differ between jurisdictions and change more often than the car rules do. Where a question turns on one of those, its answer says so and points you at the current rule rather than treating our wording as the law.

Check the current rule before you rely on it

These questions were written against the Northern Territory road rules and rider handbook as we read them. They are practice, not the official test, and the official handbook and the agency remain the material you are tested on.
