All 120 VIC learner practice questions, with answers
All 120 original Victoria practice questions for the car licence are on this page, in 12 topics, the largest topic being give way and intersections with 14 questions. They were written for this site and dated 27 August 2026, they are not the official question bank, and each one carries the correct answer and the rule behind it.
Preparing for the Victorian learner permit knowledge test means getting comfortable with different kinds of decisions, from speed limits and signs to hazards and parking. This bank contains 120 original practice questions across 12 topics. Give way and intersections is largest at 14 questions. Speed limits and Traffic lights and signs each have 11. Roundabouts, Signals and lane use, Overtaking and following, Alcohol, drugs and fatigue, Pedestrians and vulnerable road users each have 10. Seatbelts and passengers, Mobile phones and distraction, and Parking and stopping each have 9, while Emergencies and hazards has 7. Start with the larger sections, then give the smaller topics a deliberate review so an overlooked rule does not remain a gap.
The official test is called the VIC learner permit knowledge test. It has 32 questions and a pass mark of 78 percent, or 25 correct answers. This is part of getting a learner permit, before the later learner driving stages. After that, Victoria requires a Hazard Perception Test before you can book the drive test for a probationary P1 licence. That hazard test uses 25 short driving videos and takes up to 45 minutes. It tests how you respond to situations, so road-rule recall is only one part of preparing for the stages ahead.
These are original practice questions written for this site, not the official question bank. VicRoads does not publish that bank. Each answer here gives the correct response and cites the rule, making it useful to check why an option is right as well as whether you recognised it. The Victorian handbook remains the authority, so use it to settle any uncertainty and check the current rule. Work through the topic list, return to the areas where your answers are less secure, then try a mixed run to practise switching between subjects.

Why the whole set is on the page
These questions were written for this site, so there is no reason to put them behind an account. Reading them is not the same as being ready for the sitting, though: the VIC learner permit knowledge test simulator draws from them in the shape of a sitting, and the 20 tests in the VIC ladder mark each answer with the rule underneath it.
