Question 1

You are parked at the kerb and want to pull out into traffic. How long should you signal for before moving?

• At least five seconds, so other road users have time to reactCorrect answer

Moving off from the kerb takes other drivers by surprise, so the signal needs to be given well in advance. You still check mirrors and your blind spot before moving.

Question 2

You want to change lanes on a multi lane road. What is the correct sequence?

• Move across, then signal to explain what you did
• Check mirrors, signal, check your blind spot, then move when there is a safe gapCorrect answer

A signal is a request, not a right of way. You must give way to any vehicle already in the lane you are moving into.

Question 3
