What to do when you see it
In the order you do it, from the moment the sign comes into view.
- Check the next permanent speed sign before you accelerate, because the road's normal limit may not be what you assume.
- Look for loose gravel and temporary line marking, which often continue past the end of the works.
- Return to normal lane positions once the temporary marking stops.

At the far end of a work zone, sometimes some distance past the last visible work.

Used nationally at the end of temporary traffic management. Where a project runs in stages, an end of roadwork sign can be followed by another work zone within a few kilometres, which is common on the long highway upgrade projects in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
